Suggest Treatment For Heartburn And Chronic Vomiting

I have been throwing up off & on for several months...I get very bad heartburn right before...this time however, I was puking up blood...this worries me...I have a lot of heart burn & live on tums...the doc has done anything except advise stronger antacids...

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about your bad heartburn. It seems to me that you should be on a PPI (proton pump inhibitor) to treat the heartburn. Over the counter ant acids don't work for severe acid reflux. Secondly, the blood you have could be because you now have stomach ulcers due to the high amount of acid or you have bleeding because of constant vomiting and you have a torn your esophagus lining, in either event you need to be started on antacids like omeprazole. Discuss this option with your doctor as you need a prescription for it. I hope this answers your question. Good luck.
