Suggest Treatment For Headaches, Joints And Back Pain

I had a widal test and it was confirmed I have typhoid. I was given ciproflaxin for 7days. I am on the 6th day and I still have symptoms of headache, joint and back pain. It is a bit better than before, but I still have the symptoms.i am going on holiday soon on a cruise ship and I am scared of getting sick on the cruise. What can I do ? Will it go if I try and rest ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Widal test can be useful in diagnosis of typhoid but it is not confirmatory... For typhoid confirmation investigate with Ig M testing..

Here for your condition physical examination is necessary along with some basic investigation like CBC, CRP, PS examination etc...

It could be viral infection also in which such symptoms appear

Chikungunya can present with joint pain and fever if present and for that serological testing helpful

If typhoid confirmed than according to culture report further medication given

If needed blood culture can be done...

So take rest and consult physician for examination and further work up
I find this answer helpful
