Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I read your question carefully and understand your concern.
Your symptoms don't seem to be related to meningitis. They are more suggestive of tension type headache, which is a common benign type of headache related to psychological and physical
stress.
Even though the therapy you are taking seems to be working, I would not recommend continuing it more than 2 weeks.
Fluconasole can cause several side effects in your body, mainly in the
liver, and I would not recommend taking it without a verified diagnosis and medical prescription.
You should know that it is very difficult for bacteria and fungal infections to pass the blood brain barrier. That is why it is very rare to develop fungal or
bacterial meningitis after a GI infection.
Further tests would be needed (a
spinal tap and brain
MRI) to diagnose this disorder if suspicions were raised during physical examination.
I recommend discussing with your doctor on the above issues.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Aida
