Suggest Treatment For Headache, Dizziness And Tightness In The Chest

Hi, my 18 year old daughter is experiencing some symptoms that I m not sure what it could be. She has a headache, dizziness, light headed, and tightness in her chest. She has just started her period and has taken midol this morning. Could these symptoms be related to her period? Or should she see a doctor? Thank you for any advice you can offer.

Midol is a brand of an over-the-counter drug for menstrual cramping and other effects related to premenstrual syndrome and menstruation. ... The "Midol Complete" formulation consists of: Acetaminophen 500 mg (pain reliever) Caffeine 60 mg (stimulant) Pyrilamine maleate 15 mg (antihistamine).
18 Years is a little late for a girl to start her Menarche.
Puberty is a process of maturation of the sexual and secondary sexual characteristics, with menarche as a step within that process.
At birth all the woman's immature follicles lie dormant in the ovaries. No more are produced. This may be an important consideration in some circumstances - eg, in childhood leukaemias and chemotherapy, as they may need to be preserved to safeguard future fertility potential of the child.
The ovarian follicles lie dormant from birth until puberty arrives and the rising hormones lead to the maturation of several ovarian follicles per month; usually only one matures and is released.
Menarche is the start of the first menstrual period. Menarche has occurred at a younger age during the last century. This may be due to improved nutrition (and subsequent weight) in the population.
The average age of menarche is 13 years but it can be as early as 8 years and as late as 16 years and still be normal. Premature or delayed menarche should be investigated - ie before 8 years or after 15 years.
How is the condition of her cycles-are they of normal duration and is the bleeding quantity heavy or scanty? If they are heavy , she needs to be worked up for probable Iron deficiency due to blood loss. The symptoms can be attributed to this.

So just seek the opinion of any good Gynaecologist about her delayed Menarche.
