Suggest Treatment For Headache And Migraine

I bumped my right side of forehead on top of the car real hard. After 5 mins, I was fine....I did not have any symptoms or lose consciousness. Either 1 or 2 wks later, I touched where I hit my forehead and it really hurt. Now I have major headaches or migraine on that area where I bumped my head ...Is it related?

Hello!

I read your question carefully and understand your concern!

Your symptoms may be related to the trauma or a temporary dysfunction in this part of the brain after the trauma.

It is normal sometimes to have a hypersensitive region to the touch in the place of the injury. It may be caused by the compression of the soft tissues and the small nerves which innervate this area.

I recommend you consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination for neurological signs, a routine blood test for inflammation.

A brain CT scan may be necessary to exclude a possible delayed intracranial hemorrhage.

If all the above mentioned tests result normal, I would recommend you starting therapy with an antidepressant like amyriptiline or SSRI class which would really help with your headaches.

Hope to have been of help!

Greeting! Dr. Aida
