Suggest Treatment For Headache And Burning Sensation In The Eyes

I have a six year old daughter who is complaining of her head hurting, eyes burning, and the outside of her hands have been causing her pain off and on. I just took her temperature, which was 102.5 F. She s very tired too, which I contributed to being up too late the other night. Should I be taking her to emergency? She did eat and run around and play today.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. Your daughter might be having just a simple viral fever. Children dont take rest till the temperature goes above 101 or 102 degrees. They keep playing till then which might shoot up the temperature. Give your daughter Tab. Paracetamol or Calpol syrup and make her sleep for some hours. Keep a wet cloth on her forehead. Temperature will come down by itself. If it is still persisting after a day or so, then you can take her to a pediatrician who might do blood test to check for the cause of fever. Also urine analysis which may suggest urinary infection, may be done.
Hope i have answered your question. If you have any other queries feel free to contact me.
