Hi, Shruti..

You seem to have either alopecia areata or tinea capitis. If the patch is totally bald, round and smooth, and if there is no symptom like itching, the possibity of alopecia areata is more. If the patch is irregular, itchy and having hairs in the patch, tinea capitis may be the diagnosis. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. Skin KOH scrapping for fungus may be done to confirm or to rule out the diagnosis tinea capitis. If it is fungal infection..antifungal like itraconazole or ketoconazole may be taken for few weeks in proper dose. And to apply antifungal lotion like clotrimazole lotion. If it is alopecia areata, the treatment may be different. Alopecia areata is autoimmune disease. So..Immunomodulator,like levamisole may be taken. Methoxsalen solution may be spplied, and intradermal triamcinolone injection may be taken. So, you consult dermatologist, and have perfect diagnosis and treatment. I hope this would be helpful for your treatment.

Thanks.
