Suggest Treatment For Hair Fall

Hi... My sister got a dengue fever in early July and she got a really bad one with the very high fever; very bad nausea and vomiiting; and she suffered from it for more than a week. About a week ago, she started to have a hair fall problem but it is becoming worse with large chunk falling everyday. And for your info, my sister has Retinitis Pigmentosa. What can she take or do to prevent this hair falling problem to worsen. Thank you so much.

Hello,

I can can understand your concern for the hair fall in your sister and appreciate your caring nature.

As I can get your history I can make our that your sister had and episode of dengue fever 3-4 months back with other of the systemic complaints. It is very common to observe hair fall after any long term or acute illness such as dengue fever and other of the problems.

In such cases the hair fall stops by itself and in general do not require any specific treatment. I reassure you that it is quite common process and there is nothing to be worried about.

If I were your sister's dermatologist then would have suggested to take a tablet containing multivitamin with minerals as active ingredients.

Give her a good nourishing diet daily to improve the nutritional reserves.
