About 3 days ago I noticed a lump on the side of my anus at the time I did not feel much discomfort but today It has gotten bigger and the discomfort has increased considerable. It was recommended By some one that I use Preparation H and It would help with the Pain. I have Been using since yesterday and discomfort/pain is getting worse. I am a male and just turned 40 what can I do?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. What problems you are facing of lump getting bigger in the anal region could be an infected furruncle or boil. Kindly wash the area with mild antiseptic solution like Povidine. After drying, kindly apply Neomycin cream in the lesion. You need to take oral antibiotic course of Amoxacillin with Clavulenic acid along with antiinflammatory medication like Ibuprofen. If the swelling does not subside with these measures, the infection might be little deeper and hence you need to get it drained surgically by consulting Surgeon. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
