Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Had genital warts (3 of them) when I was 21, then got rid of them with a natural medicine and immune pills quickly. If i had been without them for 1.7 years, is there a chance I have infected my partner? (we have been together for 3 years now and he has no signs of infection. Also I had my pap exam 2 years after the genital warts and it came back normal, and have had 3 since, and they all have been normal. I am worrried that because I had this i have a higher chance of cervical cancer than the rest? Or I have heard that its not even traceable after 2 years.
Hello dear I understand d your concern Genital wart, by human papilloma virus and cause by various strain of the virus. It is transmitted by penetrative sexual intercourse. Every strain of virus is not cancerous but it increased the risk of cancer. You can take HPV vaccine to prevent it. Once infection will clear then chance of cancer is less I will treat this type of case in my practice as below Topical: 80% Trichloroacetic acid gel and 0.15-0.5 % PODOFIX GEL If not respond you can do excision by nitrogen cryotherapy, electrocauterization and simple excision Avoid sex till you clear from infection Use safer sex practice: Use condom, Dental dams
Hope this may help you Wish you good health Best regards Dr. Sagar
