Detailed Answer:
Warm Welcome. I appreciate your trust in HCM and assure you are on best portal on the globe for expert online medical services.

I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

I can understand your frustration and it appears that you have prolonged menstrual period. Many women of your age group undergo through this problem and this occurs due to hormonal imbalance as you are approaching menopause.

If regesterone 5mg is not working for you, I would suggest you to talk to your gynecologist about switching to combined pills which may correct your hormonal imbalance. An ultrasound scan pelvis is also advised to rule out any organic cause.

As far as bleeding is concerned, following medications can help and should be taken at start of your bleeding time:

• Cap. Tranexamic acid 500mg three times daily for 4-7days. It will actively stop bleeding.
• Tab. Ponstan (mefenamic acid) for 4-7 days. It is also help in stopping heavy bleeding and headache.
Iron supplements to compensate for blood loss.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Keep a follow up to see how you doing.

Regards!
Dr. Ali Raza
