Suggest Treatment For Frequent Episodes Of Seizures

Please, I need help. I have taken my boyfriend to two different hospitals (emergency rooms). This morning he had his 2nd seizure within the last three weeks. Both times it happened in the shower, he was pretty banged up from falling on his face. Literally. The doctors both times did a catscan, heart enzimes, blood cell counts and urine tests. All came back normal. He is having severe trouble breathing, severe chest pain in the middle and left side of his chest. His back from top to bottom has been hurting he says badly. I don't know what else to do, or who else to goto. Its about 11:46pm and this happened to him again while I was in the shower, I came out and he was face down on the kitchen floor. Please help me with some advice. I have pushed as hard as I can push for an MRI, but the e.r doctor refuses. He doesn't have insurance. Have you heard of Hershey Hospital located in Hershey, Pa? Should I maybe take him there? Its roughly 2 hours from where we live. If I continue taking him to the e.r i'm afraid these people are going to think we are crazy, i'm at my witts end with this.

Hello,

During the acute stage of seizure its better to sedate him the help of a doctor so that chances of further attack could be reduced, once he gets stable you can take him to the desired hospital for further detailed evaluation and definitive treatment, try to find out any triggering factor and avoidance of that give a glucose shot or candy to avoid hypoglycemia and fatigue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. BR Hudda
