Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

1. Fistula is a hollow track between the rectum and the surface. It is a common condition.

2. Treatment for fistula is surgery and taking precautions.

3. Medicines will not help to treat fistula and surgery is recommended.

4. The operation is a small one and the patient is comfortable in a week and can do normal work.

5. Please discuss with his doctor and let him get the surgery done. Please do not worry.
