She gave us antibiotic to take amoxil and the baby took it for 4 times already since last night but how come her fever always high to 38.4 or 38.8 . her foot and leg are cold and also her ear..what is it? we are worried because we feel she might get dengue.. please answer me now doc....
Hi, Welcome to Hcm, I totally understand your concern at this stage. But you need to understand that the best thing is happening to your child. If a doc has noticed some infection in throat, then that's the cause of fever. There can be many other possibilities. It normally takes 48-72 hrs after starting an antibiotic to see the response in fever. So you have no choice but to be patient. As far as your concern regarding dengue is, yes it could be dengue also only because there is epidemic going on but the fact is there is no specific treatment you need to change other than that you make sure child takes plenty and plenty of liquids which will also help if its not dengue. So don't worry about any other possibilities. If fever doesn't subside even after taking antibiotics for 2-3 days then you need to get blood tests and also urine test. Hope your child recovers soon. Take care.
