Suggest Treatment For Fever, Cough And Body Aches

Hi, my teenage daughter has a very bad cold/flu about a week ago. She had a fever, cough, aches, pains, headache etc. We are about 7days out now and all of the symptoms have cleared except for the fever, cough and tiredness. Should we go to the doctor or wait a bit longer?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain it seems like a Viral Infection leading to the following symptoms of fever, bodyache, headache and tiredness along with cough and it seems to be regular viral fever.
She should take a short course of antibiotics like Augmentin, fever reducer and painkiller like Tylenol, do cold sponges to reduce body temperature,take cough expectorant containing Guiafenesin [mucinex] and do warm saline gargles.
Take a soft diet, plenty of water and sufficient rest..
She will resolve in 3 to 4 days but in case of no improvement consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a complete blood picture will help in deciding further course of treatment and further investigations..
