Suggest Treatment For Fever And Stiff Neck

My neck hurts terribly. I is very stiff.. the rest of my back is sore also. This has been going on since Friday, but wasn't bad until yesterday. Yesterday I also had a fever of 102.4 which seems to fluctuate... today is is barely over 100.
I hate to go to the ER unnecessarily, but want to know if I should.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Fever along with sore back can be due to meningitis.
Although, neck stiffness and not back stiffness is characteristic of meningitis, I am of the opinion that this possibility should be ruled out.
Consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment, investigations (like CSF pressure and CSF examination) and thus treatment.

Well come to HCM
The symptoms are suggestive of lower respiratory tract infection, if I would be treating doctor of this case then I would treat this case with Tab Azithromycin 5000 mg once in day for three days, with Tab Acetaminophen and Chlorzoxazone as per needed, hope this information helps ( Comment:- lower respiratory tract infection can affect the neck muscles "Stiffness" )
