Suggest Treatment For Fever And Red Rash On Face In A Child

Hi Doctor .. My child had high fever from yesterday and I only gave him fever reducer but today I small red rash on his face then after a short while he started to have the rash on his chin and cheeks and on his forehead later on then on his legs..what it could be?thanks

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of rashes over the body along with high fever can be due to Viral infection and can be due to a number of conditions like Roseola, chicken pox, Measles, hand, foot and mouth disease etc.

I would suggest you to consult an Infectious Medicine Specialist and he can do a clinical evaluation of rashes and advise you investigations like Blood test, Complete Blood picture to rule out for the cause of infection and treatment you accordingly..
Mostly Viral infection resolve gradually on its own as the virus complete its cycle in humans and treatment is supportive to relieve symptoms..
You can be advised to give him Tylenol for fever, do cool compresses over rashes to reduce inflammation, Calamine lotion can be relieving..
You should give him a soft diet with ample of fluids..
Gone him sufficient rest as it helps in faster recovery..
Vitamin C supplements can help in boosting immunity and healing faster..
