Suggest Treatment For Fever And Positive Blood Test Results For Mycobacterium

Hi Doctor,

I have had fever on and off for the past 3-4 weeks (Minor temp), due to this i got admitted to a hospital and underwent tests like Blood culture & Sensitivit, LFT,T3,TSH, HIV, MP antigen, Brucella, Urine AFB staining, AFB staining, Sputum culture, Abdomen and pelvis scan, all were normal, Xray of chest showed a minor haze (pneumonia) and a test called URINE PCR for TB has told RNA detected - positive for mycobacterium tb(sputum), i have now been asked to take Akurit-4 3 times a day for 2 months, should i go for any other test or get the same test done in another lab for conformation? as all other tests have been normal, kindly advice

Tb can affect different aspects of the body, so it is possible that a persons may have a TB infection of the urogenital tract.

This is the reason that the bacteria would have shown up in the urinary tract.

If you wish to retest to make sure that the infection is present then you should do it as soon as you can.
