Suggest Treatment For Fever And Chills

I have had fever, chills, emesis since sunday, was seen at urgent care and am not getting better. They said it was viral and to drink plenty of fluids. Can t go back to work until I am symptom free for 24 hrs. I spike a temp in the late morning and get chills in the afternoon and evening. I take APAP, Zofran and drink clear liquids and eat popcycles with electrolites. What else can I do to get back to work.h

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have fever and chills in body. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sinusitis or viral pharyngitis. Need not to worry. You should do warm saline gargles and take steam thrice a day . Avoid taking spicy and sharp food. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and CT scan to confirm the diagnosis and rule out strep throat . Doctor may prescribe anti viral drugs (acyclovir) or anti bacterial ( amoxicillin ) depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestant and expectorant.
