Suggest Treatment For Febrile Convulsions In A Child
My three year old had a fever a few days ago that hass diminish iced but is convulsing in middle of night for a few mi urea at a time. We are out of town but will visit our doctor when back. He also has a tendency to stammer a bit. Are these febrile convulsions. I think he had one at daycare when he was two but I didn't witness it. What should I do?
Thanks for the query. First of all lets make one thing clear that convulsion occuring during fever are called as febrile convulsion. Treatment is give paracetamol for fever round the clock that is every 5-6 hourly. Start with tab. frisium as advised by doctor once at night or in two divided doses. But if there is gap of days between episode of fever and convulsions it may not be febrile convulsions. Better you see your doctor.
