Suggest Treatment For Eye Twitching

My Eye has been twitching for 5 months. My doctor told me it could be a calcium deficiency. I have upped my calcium and vitamin d intake but the twitch it still there. It has been 3 weeks since my appointment. Should the twitch be gone by now? It seems less often and not as strong but still there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi back,

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

Possible causes for twitching eyes include:
- neurological problems (neuropathy)
- vitamins/minerals deficiency.

I need to have a look at your blood tests to evaluate the deficiencies in vitamins and minerals you might have.

Apart calcium and vit.D deficiency, I'd look for magnesium deficiency too.

When taking high dose of vitamins/minerals supplementation, it will take a few weeks to up to 3 months to get visible changes.

As in your case, you are already seeing some improvement, however, you'll need more time to get deficiencies completely reversed.

All the best!
