Suggest Treatment For Epilepsy Seizure

Hi, my mother 57 years old is suffering from epilepsy since her childhood days..previously she use to have frequent fits but gradually they have decreased. She is having oxetol 450mg since few years now. Recently she is diagnosed with low sodium levels and a general physician suggested that it is because of oxetol and advisrd to stop taking it. If you could please help with a replacement medicine for the same. Please help as the neurologist we used to consult has transferred to some other city and it is not possible for us to consult a new one and go for all the test again due yo financial constraint. She hasn t got any fits since September 2014 which is a great thing as previously it was 1c in a month or 1c in 2month or sometimes as frequent as twice in a month. Please help.

Welcome to Healthcare magic . Thank you for posting your query.
I can understand your concern.

Oxetol in most cases is a safe drug.. but in case your mother is having a problem with it..
I would suggest you to
1. Go for Tab Levetiracetam (500mg) 1 tab twice daily as a replacement.
2. Get an EEG done when possible

Visit a neurologist as soon its convinient for you.
He/she can examine her and correlate clinically.
Do not worry much.

Hope this helps.
Have a nice day.
Regards.

Hi welcome to HCm

I have gone thru your query regarding your mom's epileptic seizures . No doubt it is a matter of concern .
Dear , What I have gathered from your query is , that Oxetol has suited her well , and gave her some benefit in recovery .

For your info, indiscriminate use of every medication leaves behind its side effects and sometimes render our metabolism imbalanced and drag us to new diseases. though you should agree to your general physician 's suggestion to stop the medicine but gradually decrease the dose and then stop it .
Gulping on only medicines will not help cure unless you modify your life style and food habits .
meanwhile ,Avoid processed foods carbs , sugar , fried ,fast foods , Tea , coffee ,alcohol and smoking , stress , sleeplessness and Constipation all will produce biochemical and metabolic conditions in your body that will decrease your immunity.
So avoiding is definitely the first step in the right direction to detoxing the body, boosting the immune system .

Regular Exercise is very essential along with healthy diet containing all essential nutrients as fiber ,vitamins , minerals , supplements full of antioxidents , in natural form --fruit ,green veges , lemon , ginger ,garlic , aloe vera , almond + turmeric powder etc,.
Include Yogic exercises from head to toe , like Pranayam - deep breathing , Kapalbhatti , Bhujangassan , Surp assan , Vajjarasan , meditaion . all and more will strengthen your immune system boosting power of your mind and body , give you resistance from diseases and assure healthy happy life ahead .
You can look for DVD of Baba Ram Dev,s yoga . they are available all over the World .
You can take Homeopathic Kali Phos 6 , Mag Phos 6 and kali mur 6 / 4 hourly /a dose of each / 3 days .
Gap for 3 days / again repeat same sequence for 1 month .

Medical treatment suggested by your doctor can be complemented using a variety of alternative therapies. Most of these therapies or home remedies focus on strengthening your immune system so that you can overcome your problem.
Regular check ups from your proffesoinal are recommended .

Hope this helps solves your query .Take care .All the best .Get well soon.

Don't hesitate to come back in case of any further query .
