Suggest Treatment For Endometrial Hyperplasia In An Elderly Person
I am 69 and found out I have to do an endometriosis biopsy because the lining of my uterus is very thick. What could cause this and what can happen from this? I have no bleeding or spotting. I know this can cause painful cramping. Is there anything I can take before doing the procedure to ease the pain?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Endometrial hyperplasia is excessive proliferation of the cells of the endometrium. It could happen due to various causes such as high estrogen levels and insufficient levels of the progesterone-like hormones. Endometrial hyperplasia is a significant risk factor for the development or even co-existence of endometrial cancer, and hence requires careful monitoring. Hence, biopsy and its histopathological examination has been advised to know what could be the cause. For time being, to overcome pain, you can take tablet containing Mefenemic acid with Dicyclomine or Ibuprofen with Paracetamol for pain relief. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
