Suggest Treatment For Elevated Bilirubin In Blood

I am 16 and have been told from routine blood tests that my bilirubin is elevated - i have been suffering from intermittent right sided pain which has not been bad enough to stop me doing things but has been there especially at evenings. I was told i have reflux but the zantac didnt help at all. today they have rechecked my bloods.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. More details necessary - as to type of bilirubin. Total bilirubin can be elevated for many reasons, however type of bilirubin will identify the cause.
2. Appears to be possible hepatic or post-hepatic cause.
3. Bilirubin levels, abdominal ultrasound and history of alcohol or any medication abuse is necessary. More details necessary for further opinion.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
