Suggest Treatment For Ear Canal Bleeding While Having Ruptured Blood Vessel In Ear

Went to the ER last night blood coming out of my left ear. The Dr found a broken blood vessel. Said eardrum looked fine. Gave antibiotic ear drops. Still bleeding out of ear. Will exercising increase the bleeding? He said could last up to 4 days. Wondering what causes a broken blood vessel in ear and why use antibiotic drops? Are the really necessary? Didn t get those answers last night.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of ear canal bleeding while having ruptured blood vessel in ear which could be rupturing of blood vessel or perforation of eardrum. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin you are not allergic to it along with Ibuprofen and Loratadine. Put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. For now take benadryl twice a day a, keep your ear dry and apply warm compresses to external ear. You should take proper rest. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Doctor will examine with otoscope and order CT scan .Get all the lab tests done for proper examination. Try to avoid excessive use of mobile as it will put more pressure.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
