Suggest Treatment For Dry Nostrils

I got sick a cold a year or two ago, and my nostrils got really dry from all the tissue use. The edges of both nostrils split near the top, and one side hasn't healed yet- it continuously splits open again and hurts a lot every time I move my nose at all. How do I heal this?

Hi, thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

I can understand your concern.

You may find relief by taking following medicines:
Saline nasal spray-it will provide moisture in your nose and prevent it from drying,
Antibiotic ointment like Soframycin to be applied over the outside cracked skin of nose-it will help in faster healing and prevent bacterial infection,
Analgesic like Ibuprofen if you are having pain.

Also do steam inhalation.Using a humidifier in the home or work place would also help in preventing dryness of nose.

Drink lots of fluids. It will help to maintain moisture inside the nose from internally.

Hope this answers your question.Take care.
