Hello sir. I am 17 years old boy. 6 months ago, i used to smoke cigarettes, but i smoked for only 1 year or lesser (also drank alcohol only 3 days), then i quit smoking and everything. I have not smoked for 6 months now. But I developed enlarged circumvallate papillae and strange look at back of my tongue. There are tiny small red dots at side of my tongue. my mouth always feels dry.
Brief duration of smoking and alcohol use do not lead to such changes in tongue and mouth. You have already quit smoking 6 months back. There is need to find other causes for your current suffering.
Enlarged circumvallate papillae and dry mouth can occur due to infection and vitamin deficiency (specially B complex and Vitamin C). It is better to start multivitamins and meet nearby ENT specialist to rule out infection.
Wishing you good health and all the best. www.99doctor.com
