Suggest Treatment For Dry Itchy Rashes On The Penis And Scrotum

Hi, A few weeks ago i noticed a small rash developing on my penis and scrotum which created some dead and dry skin. It was orginally quite itchy but after not touching it for a few days it cleared up. It then came back after i masturbated, then was all clear again about 12 hours later

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that you might be having fungal infection (Tinea) in the region around penis and scrotum.

Management includes:
1. Keeping the area dry & avoid too much exposure to water or sweat formation.
2. Antihistamine preparations like cetirizine to reduce the itching sensation & provide symptomatic relief.
3. Application of topical antifungal cream like Clotrimazole to tackle the causative organism.

If symptoms still persist or aggravate further, then it will be better to consult a Dermatologist & get a proper examination done to find out the actual cause. So that appropriate management steps could be taken.

Also avoid wearing tight undergarments & trousers...as it will cause sweating & predispose to fungal infections.
Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
