Suggest Treatment For Dry Hacking Cough In Children

My 15 year old daughter recently had a very bad dry hacking cough. The cough is basically gone however she has severe sharp pain on her right side around the bottom of the ribcage when she bends over or does a flip turn (she is a competive swimmer). Does this go away on its own or is there something we can do to speed up the recovery process? She has a swim meet in 10 days.

Dear- thanks for using our service,I read your question in details and will give you my medical advise. She is suffering from irritation of the rib cage from the episode of hacking cough. This is a local inflammation of the area that will take few days to heal, but she should be find in a week. She can try anti-inflammatory as ibuprofen. Try to avoid heavy lifting , no more than 5 pounds. She should be ready for the competition.
I hope that my advise was helpful
