Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough

Hello Dr. Samuel,
I have been experiencing a non productive, hacking cough for the past week and a half. Started with a minor sore throat, then became laryngitis. That subsided, and I thought it was over... Then it came back as a sore throat, and dry hacking cough! I have tried all kinds of cough syrups with DM and holistic remedies.. still coughing!

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray.
3. PFT ( pulmonary function test ).
You are having uncontrolled upper respiratory tract infection ( URTI ). And this can lead to lung infection (pneumonia) and bronchitis.
So chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.
So consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
