Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough In A Child

My 2 yr old grandson has had a viral infection and pink eye . . . he seems to be getting better but now has a dry cough - coughing so much that he vomits up mucus . . . my daughter just text me saying he is up again coughing and can't seem to stop - is there anything she can do to help relieve his coughing
