Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Sirs, I started feeling dizziness and ringing in my ears about 6 weeks ago after suffering a really bad fever and a very nasty headache. I ve been taking betahistine for 3 weeks now, and it hasn t helped with my symptoms and has instead made me feel tired. What should I do?
Dizziness and ringing in the ears (tinnitus) can occur with infection. Tinnitus can be permanent in some persons but when there is a history of associated infection, it is more likely to be a temporary problem.
You may also need to revisit your ENT doctor for an assessment.
There are other causes of dizziness and tinnitus such as meneire's disease. This would be treated with a low salt diet and the use of diuretic medication if necessary.
You may want to try this to see if it helps.
I hope this helps
