Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Lightheadedness

Hi, my husband has been dizzy and light headed since last night! At one point the room was spinning! This morning he noticed his pupils were very tiny! I'm wonder if his symptomss were a drug interaction? Currently he is taking : 75mg of clpopidogrel once a day, I tablet twice daily of metoprolol 25mg, and 1 tablet once a day of rosuvastatin....and for his epilepsy he takes : 500mg 4x per day of zarontin, 30mg of phenobarbital 2x per day, 100mg carbamazepine 4x per day, and100mg Dilantin 4x per day!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Vertigo (sensation of room or person spinning) is most commonly related to: (1) vestibular neuronitis- episodes lasts for hours, may be related to a viral illness

(2)meniere's disease- associated with hearing loss and tinnitus, episodes lasts for minutes

(3) BPPV- episodes last for seconds and related to particular positions. Treated with certain maneuvers called epley or semmont

It is also possible that his medication may be contributing to his symptoms.

He should consider visiting his doctor for an assessment to determine likely cause and initiate treatment.

I hope this helps
