Ater 10 days my gastro told me to stop taking it because it was making me sick and didn t think I needed anymore. My cat scan showed I had thicken Howell walls. I have had 3 days of my stool being yellow color and smelling berry bad.Is it due to the infection still coming out of my body? Is this a bad thing?
Welcome to Healthcare Magic. 10 days of ciprofloxacin and Flagyl is sufficient for treating diverticulitis. I hope your abdominal pain has resolved. Altered stools is common after prolonged antibiotic use. Watch for a few more days to return to your normal.
When you take antibiotics, healthy bacteria from your got are washed out.
You'll need to try your best to prevent recurrent diverticulitis by avoiding constipation. Try to drink plenty of water regularly. Eat balanced diet containing high fiber. hope this helps U.
