Suggest Treatment For Diverticulitis And Gastritis

I have painful gas in my lower left side. My abdomen is not swollen. I am not sure what is causing this discomfort. I have diverticulitis and I am due for another colonoscopy very soon, I had an ovarian cyst when I was younger. I am 54 years old and I no longer menstruate. My siblings had pre cancerous polips removed years ago. I know colon cancer may not have symptoms until it is too late. I do not have blood in my stool nor am I constipated. the painful gas feels better after I move my bowel. I do not have diarrhea, a fever, nausea, nor am I vomiting. I am currently looking for a primary who will, I hope, tell me to change my diet and the pain will go away. I currently eat a healthy diet, however, my diverticulitis bothers me especially when I eat anything with seeds in it. I have become a hypochondriac researching symptoms of diseases that I think I may have. My Obama care insurance kicks in June 1, 2016. Do these symptoms sound like diverticulosis or pelvic inflammatory disease to you?

Hi thanks for asking question.

Noted you are diagnosed with diverticulitis.

Here it seems to be uncomplicated diverticulitis. You can take antibiotic and simple analgesic for it.During bout of diverticulitis Avoid heavy food and take semisolid diet with fruit juices more.

If diverticulitis complicated like perforation , abscess etc.then surgical intervention might needed.Just now no need of surgery.

For rule out pelvic inflammatory disease do USG.

Colonoscopy may be done for rule out polyp or any abnormal mass.Just you do not have symptoms of cancer, but here sibling having positive history so if blood in stool or any abnormal symptom develop do colonoscopy.

Meanwhile to prevent cancer take fiber diet more ...Avoid junk food ...Fatty food taken very less....
Fruits good ....
I hope your concern solved.
