Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Penetration During Intercourse

Hi there. I m having pain at the base of my vaginal opening. It feels like a cut/tear. To be honest it kinda feels like a splinter is there when touched. Sex is extremely painful as well as dry. But I think that s due to the fact that I don t want to do it anymore because I know it will hurt. It only hurts when touched or during sex or when I wipe after using the bathroom. (Sorry for the detail but it really hurts and is affecting my life)

That sounds like a tear at the fourchette. this happens when the penetration was done too early without adequate foreplay. Use of vaginal lubricant like KY Jelly could help reduce dry vaginal penetration injury.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for your symptoms,
no need to say sorry as its helpful for better understanding of your situation.
tenderness and pain in the base of the vagina can be due to, 1. Infection - which is very common, can be transmitted from a partner. Make sure your partner is infection free.
infection can also cause dryness in the vagina.
2. Dryness itself can cause pain due to abrasion of the skin. dryness can be due to age factor, improper foreplay, infection, dehydration hormonal imbalance.
3. Forceful sex can injure your vagina which can lead to pain
4. Use of sex toys may be left a Foreign body, causing pain.
5. Anatomical abnormalities- need a gynecologist review.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S.R.Raveendran, Sexologist
