Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Passing Stool

Sir, My motion is not coming out smoothly. I need to use my finger. Daily i m going toilet 4-5 times. As a whole the total quantity of stools in 4-5 times is more than normal. Stool condition is normal, not solid and not watery. But its not coming with a natural force. This is continued since 7 years. 12 years back i had ulcers in my stomach. That has been cured. But this thing is continued. Digestion is not good. I can t digest protein food like fish, chicken, milk, apple etc. Once i will take these my stool quantity will be so much. And this also not come out naturally. i need to use my finger and using finger is very irritating Pls help me.. Using finger is painful, feel bad condition for me.. At least this habit so be stopped.

It would have been helpful if you would have mentioned your age, and whether you are suffering from any conditions like thyroid abnormalities or diabetes.
Habitual constipation, is a nagging problem and difficult to treat. I would advise you to get your thyroid profile checked (since hypothyroidism is a common cause for constipation). Drink adequate water (>2litres/day) and include fibres in your diet (unless it cause bloating). You can take soluble fibres like psyllium/isapghula with water, or laxatives like lactulose.
It may be advisable to get a Colonoscopy done to rule out any underlying disorder. Fingering needs to be stopped as soon as possible, since i may lead to rectal injury and development of rectal ulcers. You can apply local anaesthetic gels around the peri-anal area. It serves a two-fold purpose - will act as a lubricant and reduce any pain (which may arise while defecating). Please visit your doctor to rule out any condition which may arise out of chronic constipation (piles/ anal fissures).
