HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Eating may stimulate bowel movements and may help you to empty. This means that you are hungry, you should try to eat something.

In addition, if you do not have an adequate response with the laxative, you may need to consider using another one to help clear the bowel if you are in a lot of distress.

Though laxatives can be used acutely (in the short term) to help with constipation, they should not be used too often.
Frequent use of laxatives actually cause constipation because it stops the bowel from working well.

Recurrent episodes of constipation should be treated with : (1)using enough fluids- at least 8 glasses a day not including caffeine or alcohol which actually cause the body to lose fluids
(2)activity
(3)diet high in fiber- fruits, vegetables, whole grain

I hope this helps
