Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea In An Infant

Hi, my child is 6 months and 23 days old, he is having frequent (7-8 times) loose motion (watery stools) for last 25 days. His stool is dark green in colour since then. He is feeding mother milk and taking cerelacs as usual since then. No signs of fever and dehydration. Dr advised us not to administer any medicine because its his age of teething. But this frequent, watery and green colored stools for quite sometime now, bothers me a lot. Please advise. Thanks in anticipation.

Hello,

I really appreciate your concern, green diarrhea could be due to less food intake and it may be due to viral infection, but here in this case it cannot long last for up to 7 to 8 days so it could be due to less food intake. I would suggest to send the stool for lab test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
