Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain Due To Gastroentertitis

Hi, Apparently I have been diagnosed with gastroenteritis. Iv stopped vomiting a few days ago but I m still having a diarrhoea and also abdominal pain. The pain is more uncomfortable than sharp but its irritating while I m doing a daily tasks or I m working. Also my stomach is bubbling even I have been eating..not much but I have. I would like to ask you if the pain is only swollen and upset stomach from the vomiting or Should I visit my doc again? No pain killers helps me. Thank you very much Kristyna

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of diarrhea, stomach cramps and abdominal pain which seems to be due to disturbance of electrolytic balance of body leading to gastroenteritis. It could be due to food intolerance, bacterial or viral infection, parasitic infection, food allergy or inflammatory bowel disease. Need not to worry. You should eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. Take oral rehydrating solution as well. You should take plenty of fluids. Avoid intake of outside and hot, sharp and spicy food. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe Ofloxacin and metrogyl combination medicine for 3-5 days.
