Suggest Treatment For Deviated Nose And Sinusitis

My name is sahni and i am 39 years old.I was operated on my nose in my early twenties for a deviated nasal septum. After that I have had no respite for my blocked nose.An x ray has shown a deviation and the ct scan shows primarily infection in sinuses.Am confused on how to proceed.I am suffering as I am unable to breathe since my nostrils are blocked, steaming gives me temporary relief.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to undergoing septoplasty that is surgery for straightening deviated nasal septum but still you were unable to breathe due to congestion, there are 2 reasons, one is failed surgery as there is a possibility that the septum did not got straightened ad other additive factor is sinus infection leading to sinus congestion..
In case if steam inhalation helps that means that means you should first of all take treatment of sinusitis that will help in improving the condition and will help in improving breathing..
I would suggest you to consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Phenylephrine, decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline..
Continue doing steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Once the infection resolve you can get evaluated for the deviated septum and treatment can be done by another septoplasty procedure if needed..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
