Suggest Treatment For Dark Stools And Mucous In It,stomach Pain And Headache
My stool has been exceptionally dark and really loose and flaky. There s a weird mixture of a mucusy stool combined with flaky stool that looks like coffee grinds. I don t know what is causing this or if I should seek medical attention. I ve had a bad stomach ache as well along with a headache and I ve been going pretty frequently.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of dark, loose flaky stools with mucus which look like coffee grinds. There is also a bad headache, stomach ache and going for motion pretty frequently. I would advise you the following: Send stool sample for tests for 3 consecutive days. If infection is present get treated with a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotic and see the results. In most of the times you may get alright. If there is a no complete relief, get further tests like colonoscopy, CT scan of the abdomen and so on to find the reason and get treated accordingly.
