my 13 year old daughter is overweight and has dark, rough skin on her neck..on the front of her neck it is almost shiny, but black...the back of her neck is very dry and rough and also dark. I've had her tested for diabetes and thyroid problems and both test came back normal...what else could be causing this, and what can i do to lighten her skin?

Hello,
Thank you for writing to HCM

It is called as acanthosis Nigricans. It occurs in obese, or diabetic patients.
I would advice you to take few sittings of chemical peeling over the neck.
Apply KC lite cream over the affected area daily night.
I would advice you to maintain your weight in your bmi range.
Consult your dermatologist or cosmetologist in person for confirmatory diagnosis and procedure.

Regards.
