Suggest Treatment For Cysts In Ovary Causing Pain During Intercourse
I am a 24 year old female and I have had pain on my right ovary (sometimes left) since I was about 17. I have complained to doctors for years and they always give me the same response you are ovulating and you have small cysts that are too small to remove and nobody will touch if they don t grow. The pain is so bad that during sex I cant take it. It feels like something is hitting a wall that hurts. It is really bothering me because I don t feel normal.. its not fair. My cyst was 0.88mm in 2009 and now it is 3.2 cm. I did an ultra sound recently to see the size of the cyst and a follow-up a month later showed the doctor that it did not grow so he left it alone.

A symptomatic ovarian cyst of size 3.2 cm causing pain is of concern.
Since, the cyst is symptomatic, surgical excision of the cyst or cystectomy needs to be done followed by histopathological examination.
However, other causes of pain during sexual intercourse need to be ruled out.
A clinical assessment of the reproductive tract especially cervix needs to be done.
A Pap test should also be done to rule out possibility of any cervical lesion since cervical lesions are most common causes of pain during sexual intercourse.
Please consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and to find the cause of pain.
Further management will be decided by result of clinical assessment and investigations.
