Suggest Treatment For Cystic Hydatid Disease Of The Liver

My cousin was diagnosed cystic hydatid disease 5 years ago. He went through a very risky surgery to have part of his liver removed. This year, the doctor said that the disease come back again and he went through another surgery, which removed his right kidney, part of his liver, intestine and inferior vena cava. Doctor also use Albendazole help control the disease spreading after surgery.

Since it seems that this way treatment didn’t stop the disease 5 years ago, are there more effective medications to prevent the disease? Please help!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Only antiparasitic medications such as abendazole or metronidazol and some chemotherapeutic medications may help in systemic cystic disease. and if this is limited to organs such as liver, then resections are required,no matter how risky this is since cyst has intention to spread rapidly. so repeated surgeries and abenadzole are the only solution in this case.
Wish you good health. Kindly regards
