hi, i am 19 years old and have had a cyst in my breast for around 2 years, i had a biopsy a little over a year ago and results showed it was just a cyst. the cyst grows and gardens during periods so i have decided to have it removed. i forgot to ask my doctor who i was examined by at the hospital today if i would have it removed under local or general anesthetic, do you know? Or can i request general anesthetic to be used? thanks.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.If it is proven cyst, and not causing any discomfort - you can leave it alone, may resolve by time. 2.If as you said causing discomfort during periods - better get rid of it. 3.It is generally done under ultrasound guided needle aspiration with no anaesthesia or local. General is not at all recommended. 4.Hope i have answered your questions.
Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
