I have dealt with leg cramps and restless leg for 5 years. Seemed to get worse after radiation for breast cancer but now I see a common thread. The cramps are all day when the doctor puts me back on Effexor for mild depression. This is the only drug that really helps with depression but the cramps are really annoying. Any idea what I can do?
Stretch and massage. Stretch the cramped muscle and gently rub it to help it relax. For a calf cramp, put your weight on your cramped leg and bend your knee slightly. Apply heat or cold. Use a warm towel or heating pad on tense or tight muscles.
