Suggest Treatment For Cracked Ribs After A Fall

I was taking a shower and holding on to the safety rail with suction cups it came loose and I fell backwards hitting the toilet, knocked the lid off. I hit my left side where my ribs are. I went to a local Dr yesterday and he thought my ribs were cracked, not broken. No ex ray was taken. This happened the day before Thanksgiving. Today I am in a lot of pain. He gave me Hydrocodone, and Tylenol, Can I take ibuprofen also. . It says not. To take acetaminophen with the hydrocodone and Tylenol.

Dear patient
You have got fall and trauma to left rib cage that needs to be investigated. Whether cracked or fracture rib is same thing. I would advise radiograph of chest to rule out fracture. You can take ibuprofen with hydrocodone for pain without much side effects.if your radiograph shows fracture I would advise wearing chest belt for 4 weeks which will decrease requirements of painkillers.
