Suggest Treatment For Cough, Sore Throat, Headache And Fever

I was sick last week (congestion, sore throat/coughing). It got better over 3 days, came back today with a vengeance; headache, disoriented, sinus conjestion, slight fever, bodyaches (especially @ knee joints). Trying to figure flu, cold or virus so I know how to treat it

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cough, sore throat, headache and fever which is due to poor immunity of body and due to severe upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day. You should take steam inhalation twice a day. Take paracetamol for fever and headache. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache.Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat. Maintain proper hygiene and drink plenty of fluids.
