Suggest Treatment For Cough N Fever With Sore Throat
hi... I am 29 yr old, male. I want to go to Sandhakapu trek near to Darjeeling (8 days trek) after 2 days. What precautions should I take during trek or Should I cancel the trek?Two days back I visited doc for the cough n fever and told him I want to go trek after 4 days. So he has given montek lc for the cold and cough, daily 1 tablet at night time. Now, today(after 2 days) I had throat pain, low voice problem(cant speak clearly), noise come during breathing when I sleep. So visited the doc again. Still he said you can go to trek as environment will be clear(non polluted) and given 2 tablets(dont knw names as they are given in loose packets) for 2 days.
After discussion with my sister who is B.Pharm, suggested to take the ambroxol syrup and niligiri oil vapors and said tablets are right but 3-4 days will be required to recover.
So I would like to know, should I go to trek after 2 days and should I buy Ambroxol syrup? What precautions should I take during trek or Should I cancel the trek?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cough, fever with sore throat which is due to bacterial infection leading to strep throat. I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene. You should take Diphenhydramine and Dextromethorphan for 4-5 days. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take ibuprofen one tablet twice daily. Take soft foods to avoid irritation to the throat. Throat lozanges one every 4 hours is helpful. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper checkup which the help of CT scan and get prescribed antibiotics . Taking steam will be helpful. You should take you take nasal decongestant sprays, antihistamines and antibiotic combination as infection is present .Do warm saline gargles 3 to 4 times a day. Its better to cancel trek as it will cause weakness in you.
